This is how we are able to continue to run low-cost programming, as well as our Access Programs, which provide tuition-free access to outdoor activities, courses, and certifications with high financial barriers to entry.Join SheJumps and AllTrails for a Wild Skills Trail day, a light family-friendly hike at Lair O’ the Bear Park in Morrison, CO. We invite parents, siblings, or mentors 18+ and their girls for a few hours of educational fun on the trail. The purpose of this hike is to pass on a love of the outdoors to our next generation of girls, create community, and help them feel confident hitting the trails! Girls will learn basic navigation and trail preparedness in an encouraging, women-led environment. This event is best suited for girls ages 8-13, but girls outside of this age range who can hike for ~2 miles and participate in group activities are welcome to join with their parents/adult mentors.Please arrive with the AllTrails Base (the free version) downloaded on your phone. You will leave with an AllTrails Plus code to upgrade your account.Each participant will also receive a swag bag from SheJumps and AllTrails!SheJumps is an inclusive organization. We welcome all women and girls—transgender and cisgender, as well as non-binary people. We recognize that not all girls have adult women in their lives, so we invite dads/men mentors to accompany their girls.Schedule for the Day*On the day of the event, you’ll arrive at the Lair O’ the Bear trailhead parking lot to check in. Look for the SheJumps sign at a car to check in!10am-10:15 am: Check-in. Please arrive at 12:30, the parking lot can fill up and this will allow time to wait for a spot if needed!10:15-10:30am : Instruction on navigation and AllTrails app10:30-12pm: Hike** with snack break, stops for navigation questions, and the 10 essentials.12:30 pm: Finish back at the cars and head home*This is an approximate schedule, depending on how long the hike and check-in takes everyone**We will plan on hiking The Bruin Buff Trail Loop which is rated ‘easy’ on AllTrails. It is a 1.6 mile loop with 226 ft of elevation gain. We will check conditions the day before and pivot if it is too icy!
